The principal of a private city school has been arrested for molesting a Class 12 girl, police said Wednesday.
Principal George Bernard Shaw Haldar was arrested Tuesday after the student said in her complaint that she was molested in his room in the south Kolkata school, police said.
"The complaint says that after school hours, the student was asked to come to the principal's room where she was molested," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pallab Kanti Ghosh.
Following the incident, the student along with her father lodged the complaint at the Shakespeare Sarani police station in the central part of the city.
She claimed that this was not the first time that she was targeted, police said.
