West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Friday said Korean and Taiwanese entrepreneurs are keen to invest in manufacture of computer hardware and electronics in the state.

"In a significant development, Korean and Taiwanese entrepreneurs are showing interest in investing in manufacture of computer hardware and electronics in West Bengal," Banerjee posted on her official Facebook Page.

"They are world leaders in this domain. This would usher in investment and major job opportunities for youth of our state, which is endowed with intellectually rich human resources for cutting edge electronic manufacturing," she said.

Banerjee, also the Trinamool Congress supremo, said a Korean delegation after touring the Hardware Park coming up in the state's Naihati area of North 24-Parganas district, "became highly optimistic about Bengal as future destination of the Korean hardware investments".

"Koreans are looking at Bengal as the gateway of export of electronic and hardware items to Bangladesh, Mayanmar, China and other major ASEAN countries," she said.

"With the advent of world class players like Korea and Taiwan, our state is targeting to improve its market share in hardware and electronic goods significantly," she added.

Banerjee Friday inaugurated a dielectric capacitor film manufacturing unit in Bengal's Bankura district.
