The NDA Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind on Friday reached Parliament house to file his nomination for the July 17 election where he will face opposition nominee Meira Kumar.
Kovind reached Parliament along with Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah, central ministers and Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted earlier that he will accompany Kovind when he files his nomination.
Kovind is widely expected to sail through the election comfortably. The counting of votes will take place on July 20. The term of President Pranab Mukherjee ends on July 24.
