Czech Petra Kvitova achieved her first victory in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals by winning 7-5, 7-5 over her compatriot Lucie Safarova here on Wednesday.
Kvitova extended her winning streak over Safarova, who was defeated in their previous seven matches; the last in August in New Haven in the United States, reports Efe.
Kvitova lost her tournament's first match to German Angelique Kerber, while Safarova was beaten in her two matches; the first against Spanish Garbine Muguruza.
Later, Muguruza beat Germany's Angelique Kerber 6-4, 6-4.
