In their next home game, the Uttar Pradesh Wizards will take on the Kalinga Lancers in a Hockey India League (HIL) match at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium here Sunday.

Debutant Lancers showed strength in their game against the Ranchi Rhinos Friday and at one point were leading 2-1. But they failed to capitalise on their chances and let the defending champions win 3-2.

The Lancers are a team is growing in form and cannot be taken lightly. It will interesting to see if the wizards can control the opponent and whether Terry Walsh coached Lancers can finally show that they are here to win.

Out of the five matches played, the Bhubaneswar-based team have won only one game and are placed fifth in the points table.

"The game yesterday was not satisfactory but the team is growing better with each match. Our team is as strong as any other team in the League, just that we need to improve certain aspects of our game," Walsh said.
