Several security lapses were found at Ryan International School during a safety audit done in the wake of the killing of a seven-year-old boy, Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said on Monday.

"Many lapses have been found (in the safety of the school). These lapses have been identified and recognised. We will be correcting them," Singh told reporters.

He said the shortcomings of the school would be set right in the next three months.

The school reopened after 10 days of the incident on Monday. The parents have sought a CBI investigation into the matter.

Singh assured that proper action would be taken against the school buses, which are found parked outside the campus at night.

"It's a matter of concern if school buses are parked outside the school. If we come across any such incidence, the road safety committee will take action against them," he said.

He said the schools have been asked to follow the safety guidelines issued by the Delhi government's Directorate of Education on September 15.

Acknowledging that many parents were concerned about the safety, Singh said the safety audit report would be put up with "timeline for transparency" on the internal portal of the school used to communicate with parents.

"We will decide further course of action as per the response of the parents," he added.

Pradhuman Thakur, a student of Class 2, was found dead with his throat slit in the washroom of Ryan International School located in Bhondsi on September 8. Ashok Kumar (42), a bus conductor at the school, has been arrested by the police on suspicion.
