Actress-writer Lena Dunham has been named as the recipient of advocacy group Point Foundation's Horizon Award 2014 for her support of the gay community.
The Girls creator will be handed her latest honour during a gala in April, reports contactmusic.com.
The award is bestowed on "a young trailblazer who has taken a leadership role as an advocate for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) issues".
"There is no one better at conveying the ambition of today's young adults to overcome obstacles and realise their great potential than Lena Dunham," said Point Foundation CEO Jorge Valencia.
"Dunham uses intelligent humour and compassion to present an honest appraisal of something our Point Scholars know all too well - the struggle to be comfortable in your own skin," added Valencia.
