A leopard was found electrocuted in Ghaziabad Friday, a day after another big cat was found dead in the district.
Employees of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) discovered the leopard's body when they reached Abupur village to repair a conductor.
They informed the police, which called forest officials to the spot.
Divisional forest officer Joga Singh said: "I am going to write to the UPPCL officials to ensure that such incidents should not occur."
S.K. Rastogi, chief conservator forest at Meerut, said: "We shall lodge a first information report (FIR) to apprise our counterpart department whose apathy has surfaced in the death of the animal."
On Thursday, another leopard was found dead in the district's Loni area. An official said the animal seemed to have died of natural causes.
