"I'm a very lucky guy, that the collective accomplishments of the remarkable cast and crew of 'Ray Donovan' are being attributed to me," Schreiber said in a statement.
Schreiber was nominated for the award for the third consecutive year for the American crime drama show, which is aired on AXN channel in India.
"Thank you so much Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) for the nomination and for watching our show. It's incredibly encouraging," he added.
Apart from Schreiber, Jon Hamm ("Mad Men"), Rami Malek ("Mr. Robot"), Wagner Moura ("Narcos"), Bob Odenkirk ("Better Call Saul") are also in the race to grab the trophy in the category.
The event, to be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel's Grand Ballroom on January 10 next year, will be hosted by Ricky Gervais.
