An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale was recorded in Bhaderwah town of Jammu on Friday, authorities said. No damage to life or property was reported.
"A light intensity quake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale jolted Bhaderwah town today (Friday) morning," Senior Meteorologist Farooq Ahmad Bhat from Jammu and Kashmir's Met Office told IANS.
The quake was recorded at 7.31 a.m. and its epicentre was in Uttarakhand.
"The tremors were felt only in Bhaderwah town of Doda district and areas around it and nowhere else in the state," Bhat said.
"The time of occurrence of the earthquake was 7.31 a.m. while its epicentre was in Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand," he added.
