Lisa Haydon plays perfect muse for Monisha Jaising at LFW

This season, Monisha Jaising collaborated with Magnum Icecream to unveil her Luxe Resort 2016 collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer-Resort edition and model-turned-actress Lisa Haydon played a perfect muse for the veteran designer.

The designer showcased a modern take on the best of the retro era where beauty was as intoxicating and free as the zeitgeist. Jaising retrieved the free spirit whim for the cyber generation.

"This season, 'The Monisha Jaising Woman' is unusual, proactive, dramatic, and someone with an element of mystique. My design philosophy focuses 'timeless sophistication', luxe being the word that fits best describing the revival in my pastiche," said the designer.

Showstopper Lisa Haydon brought a vivacious energy to the ramp donning a heavy duty, all-over textured "Rockstar" gown, completely hand embroidered with multiple gold metal elements. Adding movement in the rich gold fringing which bleeds from the texture with strategic star shape cut-outs.

"My journey with Monisha so far has been fun and it dates back to years ago when I first walked for her. Her latest collection in association with Magnum, is cool, flirty, effortlessly chic and crafted to styles that are luxurious and sexy. I feel like a rockstar and it's beautiful sensual, stylish yet edgy, the most perfect red carpet look, a true labour of love," said Lisa.

Asked Jaising that what made her associate with Magnum as a brand for her show, she told IANS: "If you see globally, Magnum have always been associated with fashion. So basically you know it's a brand that is known to have fashion collaboration and fashion sense. The wrappers are so cool, look at the colours and all. They do have sense of style, luxury which goes really well with my brand."

And why Lisa as a showstopper?

"Lisa is hot and she fits into the perfect definition of today's modern women. I think she is perfect and Magnum was well right on getting her on," the designer added.

The show witnessed some of Jaising's close friends and clients gracing the front row including Mehr Rampal, Rhea Pillai, Sophie Choudry, Dolly Sidhwani, international supermodel Karolina Kurkova, Roohi and Chetan Jaikishan, Kaajal Anand, Natasha Poonawala, Farah Oomerbhoy, Anu Dewan and many more.
