Lithuania's incumbent President Dalia Grybauskaite Monday has been re-elected for a second term, the Central Electoral Commission said.
Grybauskaite secured 57.87 percent of the vote, compared with 40.14 percent for Social Democrat Zigmantas Balcytis, Xinhua reported.
"No president had been elected twice in a row in Lithuania. It will be a historic victory for all," Grybauskaite said.
Grybauskaite, also referred to as "Steel Magnolia", assumed presidential office July 12, 2009, when she became the first woman president of Lithuania.
