Livorno boosted their Italian Serie A survival hopes as they came back from two goals down to claim a dramatic 2-2 draw against Inter Milan.

The Milan outfit seemed well on their way to an easy win after two first-half goals put them very much in command at the Stadio Armando Picchi Monday, reports Xinhua.

Hernanes netted his first goal for Inter in the 37th minute after Mauro Icardi missed his attempted volley from Palacio's header, leaving the ball unwittingly for Hernanes, who was following in to lift his shot into the roof of the net.

On the stroke of half-time, Palacio doubled Inter's lead with a fine volley past Bardi, his shot skidding off the ground.

But Livorno found a way back into the game when top scorer Paulinho struck his 12th league goal of the season, before substitute Innocent Emeghara ensured a share of the spoils five minutes from time.

Inter head coach Walter Mazzarri felt the way in which his team surrendered the two goal lead was shameful.

"It's shameful to throw away points like that," Mazzarri said. "We made the goals all by ourselves.

"We were completely in control of the game, it's inexplicable what happened with Guarin," he said.

"Having given three performances like we have in our last three games, it's hard to accept we have only taken two points," he added.
