Members in the Lok Sabha, led by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Tuesday condemned the attack on CRPF personnel in Chattisgarh, which left 13 troopers dead.
When the house met in the morning, the speaker mentioned the gunbattle with Maoists in Sukma area in Chhattisgarh.
Maoists Monday gunned down 13 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers engaged in an operation aimed at flushing out the rebels from a thickly forested area of Chhattisgarh.
Mahajan said the attack as a cowardly act, and prayed for the CRPF personnel killed in the incident and extended condolences to their family members.
The members also stood in silence for several minutes as a mark of respect for those killed.
