Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has greeted the people on the eve of Independence Day.
In her message Wednesday, she said: "I extend my greetings to the people on the eve of the Independence Day, especially to the jawans protecting our borders, the farmers toiling in the fields, the labourers sweating in the blazing sun and the youth and the children who are our tomorrow.
"As we celebrate our inspiring journey since the dawn of freedom, let us pay tributes to our valiant freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our independence."
