Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui on Friday took responsibility for the team's poor results, adding he was confident that the Blancos would bounce back against Alaves.
Real Madrid were stunned 0-3 by Sevilla and played to a 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid in La Liga action, while the Blancos were defeated 1-0 by CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League, reports Efe.
"The coach is responsible for the bad things, but never for the good ones. This is our profession. We accept that normally, we are aware of how things work," Lopetegui said at a press conference ahead of the La Liga clash with Alaves.
Lopetegui showed respect for the criticism of his team, explaining "the important thing is how we are feeling and the determination shown by the players."
"We know there will be spells where we have problems and we have to be able to overcome them. We have to look at the good points and correct elements which need work. We have got the right mentality and absolute confidence in every competition," he said.
