Thiruvallam Bhasi, chief editor of 'Indian Malayalee' magazine, was Sunday presented the prestigious Federation of India Associations Victoria (FIAV) award for his role in promoting Malayalam and his magazine in Australia.
Speaking to IANS over telephone from Melbourne, Bhasi said that this recognition came at the time when his magazine was celebrating its sixth anniversary.
"Am happy that my efforts for bringing out this magazine has been rewarded at the highest level in Australia. I dedicate this to my readers," said Bhasi.
Bhasi was a full-time journalist with more than 25 years experience in the Kerala capital before migrating to Melbourne more than a decade back.
