West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday launched a 'Bengal Safari' in the northern region of the state which she said will offer visitors a safari experience similar to that in Africa.
"African Safari experience now comes to Bengal! Today I inaugurated 'Bengal Safari' near Siliguri, which will offer visitors the experience to see wild animals in forest settings while taking safari ride in vehicles," Banerjee said in a Facebook post.
"Foundation stone of a new College of Animal and Fishery Sciences in Jalpaiguri and a number of projects for Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts were also initiated from today's program," she said.
