Man arrested for molesting national swimmer in Bengal
A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly molesting a national-level swimmer in West Bengal's Howrah district, police said.
"We have arrested a youth who allegedly tried to molest a woman who is a national-level swimmer," said Commissioner of Police (Howrah) A.M. Ranade.
The incident happened in Bally in the district - some 12 km from Kolkata - when the accused riding a bicycle made lewd gestures and comments at the woman and tried to molest her.
After the woman raised an alarm, people gathered around and got hold of the man and thrashed him before handing him over to the police.
