A 34-year-old man was arrested here with a consignment of heroin worth Rs.1.5 crore, said police Thursday.
Om Prakash alias Langada, who is indulged in sale and supply of heroin in Delhi for over 10 years, was arrested Wednesday from near a metro station where he had come to deliver the drugs.
"Based on secret information, Om Prakash was arrested and the police also seized 1.5 kg heroin worth of Rs. 1.5 crore from him," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Railways)Ravindra Yadav,.
During interrogation, Prakash, a resident of west Delhi's Uttam Nagar, revealed that his father had indulged in selling liquor due due to insufficient income. Initially, he also joined him but later he changed his track and started selling drugs.
"He started selling heroin since 2002. He used to procure heroin from Mohan, resident of Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh," said the official.
