English football club Manchester City is set to offer defender Maicon to Brazilian top-flight club Gremio.
The 31-year-old has made just eight first-team appearances since his August 2012 move to City from Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan, reports Xinhua.
Beset by ankle and knee injuries last year, it is understood Maicon wants to resurrect his career in Brazil and stake a claim for a recall to the country's national team ahead of next year's World Cup.
Maicon's move would be the second time Gremio have signed an English Premier League defender this season. In January, the club secured Arsenal left-back Andre Santos on a one-year loan deal.
