A 49-year-old man committed suicide at a public park in south Delhi by hanging himself from a tree, the police said on Wednesday.
Mohammad Safikul, a native of Bihar, used to work as a painter, the police said. The incident was reported by some morning walkers who spotted a man's body hanging from a tree at a park in Moti Bagh.
Safikul stayed with his family in a rented accommodation in Masoodpur area of Vasant Kunj, according to the police.
"During investigation, it was found that he had talked with his wife before taking the extreme step. However, no suicide note has been found," a senior police officer said.
"He was tense due to his financial and domestic condition which may have led him to commit suicide. However, we are probing the issue," he added.
