A 28-year-old man who raped a seven-year-old girl and left her to die near a slum here has been arrested -- 15 months later.
The girl was victimized in May 2016 and left in the bushes after being hit on the head. Unknown to the criminal, the girl survived.
"The victim was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and recovered after a long time after undergoing multiple surgeries," a senior police officer told IANS.
Police said Amrish Dubey has been arrested under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
"The accused was arrested after massive efforts and scanning of CCTV footage installed on a building near the crime spot."
Dubey belonged to Damon district in Madhya Pradesh. Police said he worked at a rest house of a private company in Gurugram and was wearing the company's T-shirt when he committed the crime.
