Berlin/Madrid, July 9 (IANS/EFE) Current La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have secured Bayern Munich's Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic.
German newspaper Bild reported that the Madrid-based club paid 22 million euros for the 28-year-old, who signed a contract till 2019, reports Efe.
Spanish AS newspaper reported that Mandzukic's agent was the link between Los Rojiblancos and the Bavarians.
Mandzukic played in 88 games for Bayern Munich, scoring 48 goals. His place will be taken by former Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.
Mandzukic will look to replace Atletico's former striker Diego Costa, who was signed by Chelsea.
