Married woman commits suicide in parents' house

A woman, who had returned to her parents' house after dowry demands from her in-laws, committed suicide on Thursday, police said.

The incident was reported from Biharipur locality under Vijay Nagar police station here.

According to the complaint filed by the father of the woman, Nisha, she was married to a man from Punjab's Bhatinda but right since the marriage her in-laws were demanding dowry. She finally came back to her parents' home here, but early on Thursday, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom.

"We have registered the complaint and investigation has been initiated in the case," said CO (I) Indra Pal Singh Yadav.
