Actress Mara Wilson, who starred in 1996 film "Matilda", has come out as a bisexual.

Following the Orlando mass shooting, which claimed the lives of 49 people at a gay nightclub, the 28-year-old actress made the revelation on Twitter by posting a series of tweets including the one stating that the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community has "always felt like home" to her, reports aceshowbiz.com.

She uploaded an old photograph of herself inside a gay nightclub when she was 18 years old.

"Me at a gay club when I was eighteen. I feel embarrassed looking at it now... Being a 'straight girl' where I clearly didn't belong, but I will say, I felt so welcomed there," Wilson captioned the image.

She said that she felt not only accepted but also welcomed by the LGBT community.

"I have never had a better experience at a club than I did then. Great music and people. And one of my friends met his partner that night," she shared.

When a follower tweeted the actress asking her to clarify her sexuality as "bisexual, non-binary", she replied: "Let me put it this way: I am a 2".

She referred to the Kinsey scale, also called the Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale, from the 1940s reports on human sexuality by sexologist Alfred Kinsey.

According to the Kinsey scale, a No.2 person is "predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual".

"Your support is much appreciated. I will say, though, I am still going to be pretty private about my relationships, as I always have been," she added.

Explaining why she referred to being a 2, Wilson said: "I know a lot of people don't like the Kinsey scale, and that is fine by me. But I'm pragmatic at heart and find comfort in numbers".
