Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu's upcoming 'E' line of smartphones will be powered by Alibaba's YunOS and will be able to control the Roewe RX5 smart car jointly announced by Alibaba with SAIC Motor Corp.
Meizu had scheduled a press event for August 10 and going by the company's teasers, they will announce the 'E' line of smartphones during the show, Chinese social network Weibo reported on Tuesday.
Alibaba's YunOS is a forked version of Android which means regular Android equipped with Meizu's Flyme OS UI will not be installed on these smartphone and rather equipped with car control features.
Meizu "M1E" smartphone will be all-metal body featuring 5.5-inch full-HD display, 13MP camera and 3,100 mAh battery.
The phone will be equipped with 32GB of internal storage and will be powered by the Helio P10 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 1.8GHz paired up with 3GB of RAM.
