Several places in Odisha continued to reel under a cold wave with Phulbani town recording 5.2 degrees Celsius Tuesday, the day's lowest in the state.
Phulbani, the district headquarters town of Kandhamal, about 210 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar, recorded 5.2 degrees Celsius, a senior official of the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre told IANS.
Low temperatures were also recorded in Sundergarh (7.4 degrees Celsius), Titilagarh (7.5), Keonjhar (8.5) and Sambalpur (8.9), the official said.
However, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack remained warmer, recording minimum temperatures of 13.6 and 13.0 degrees Celsius, respectively, he said.
The cold wave may continue in isolated pockets in the interior belt of the state over the next two days, he said. Shallow fog may occur at a few places over coastal Odisha during the period, the official added.
