A three-year-old girl drowned in a drain while playing in the Sriniwaspuri in south Delhi on Thursday, police said.
Police said the girl, Kiran, accidentally fell into the uncovered drain near Gandhi Camp colony.
The drain that runs from New Friends Colony to Sriniwaspuri was covered with slabs at some places. However, some slabs were found broken.
The rescue team could not find the girl's body and it appears to have been washed away, a senior police officer said, adding efforts to trace her body are on.
A case was registered in this connection at Amar Colony police station.
