A nine-year-old boy was killed by a man in Delhi for resisting a sodomy attempt on Saturday, police said. The man was later arrested.
The incident was reported from west Delhi's Rahola area.
"Piyush, a student of class 3, was strangled to death by his neighbour Jai Kumar at Rahola," a police officer said.
The officer said Kumar lured the boy by promising to buy him some goodies. He took the boy to an isolated place and tried to sodomise him but the boy resisted and started screaming.
The officer said Kumar got scared and strangled the boy.
