A 13-year-old girl was raped repeatedly over an year in a Ghaziabad ashram by three co-workers, police said Monday. Two accused have been arrested.
Shiv Kumar Mehto alias Shiva, 20, and Baba Baishakhi Dass, 50, have been arrested for the rape at Gurukul Shanti Dham Ashram at Kaushambi, said Inspector Upendra Yadav of Indirapuram police station.
The girl, who worked and lived in the ashram, was last sexually assaulted in her room was July 7, according to a police complaint by ashram manager Divya Yogmaya Saraswati.
"We have registered a rape case. Raids are being conducted to nab the third accused Varun, 35," Yadav said.
The three accused raped her for over an year and threatened to keep quiet. But when Shiva tried to assault her Sunday, she screamed for help and the ashram manager came to her rescue, police said.
