Angry youths on Saturday torched the vehicle belonging to a former minister in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Police said former minister and Peoples Conference (PC) leader, Abdul Gani Vakil's vehicle was attacked by a mob when it passed through a village where the funeral of a militant was going on in Baramulla district.

"The former minister escaped unhurt with the help of police. The mob, however, torched the vehicle", police said.

Vakil recently joined the PC headed by Sajjad Lone. He was earlier in the Congress.
