Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday arrived here on a two-day visit.
He was received by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, his cabinet colleagues and senior officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
After getting down from the special aircraft, Modi took the Governor and the Chief Minister aside and was seen engaged in animated discussion with them for three minutes. he then proceeded with the customary reception as Chandrasekhar Rao introduced his cabinet colleagues and senior officials, who welcomed the prime minister with bouquets.
The Prime Minister is believed to have discussed the issue of demonetisation of high currency value notes with them.
From the airport, Modi drove straight to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Police Academy, where he will have a night halt and the next day will address the annual conference of state Directors-General of Police and Inspectors-General of Police.
The Prime Minister had dinner with the senior officials attending the three-day meet, which began on Friday.
He is likely to participate in 'yoga' session with police officers Saturday morning before addressing the meet. Modi will return to Delhi Saturday evening.
Massive security arrangements have been made for the Prime Minister in and around the National Police Academy at Shivrampalli located on the airport road. A thick security was thrown around the academy, especially at the guest house where Modi will stay.
Police chiefs of all states and directors general of central paramilitary forces are attending the meet, which is expected to discuss cross-border terrorism and radicalisation of youth among other issues.
