Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making false promises to come to power and said he had ushered in 'bure din' (bad days) for the country.
Gandhi made the comment during a brief stopover at Fursatganj before heading to his Lok Sabha constituency Amethi.
His reference was to Modi's repeated promise during the 2014 Lok Sabha election to bring about 'acche din' for the people.
Gandhi will spend two days in Amethi where he is scheduled to meet the newly elected Gram Pradhans and interact with party workers.
Soon after reaching Lucknow, where he was received by jubilant Congress supporters, Gandhi drove to Amethi.
The MP will also conduct surprise inspection of developmental work at some places in Amethi, a Congress source told IANS.
