After meeting Tamil superstar Rajinikanth at his Chennai residence recently, BJP leader Narendra Modi Wednesday met Vijay, another action hero of Tamil cinema.
Modi who is on whirlwind two-day tour of Tamil Nadu arrived here in the evening after addressing rallies in Krishnagiri and Salem.
Coimbatore is about 500 km from Chennai.
The actor met the Gujarat chief minister at a hotel and the meeting lasted for about 15 minutes. However, what transpired at the meeting was not disclosed.
The BJP is hoping the meeting would have a positive rub-off effect on the fans of Vijay for them to vote for National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in the state.
However, Vijay clarified there was no political motive behind the meeting.
