Monchengladbach signed Berlin's talented defender Nico Schulz, both Bundesliga outfits confirmed in official statements.
The "Foals" reinforced their injury-hit defence with the signing of the left-sided defender Nico Schulz, who passed the medical to put pen to paper on a four-year deal that keeps him in "Gladbach" until June 2019.
"We closely observed the development of Nico Schulz in the past few years therefore we are pleased that we were able to sign him. Nico can play on the left side, defensively as well as offensively. He fits perfectly into our team," Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl said on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old made his professional debut for Hertha Berlin in August 2010 and has scored two goals in 98 appearances ever since. Schulz also has 12 caps for Germany's Under-21 national team.
Borussia Monchengladbach encounters Mainz for the second round in German Bundesliga on Sunday, Xinhua reported.
