All India CBSE class 12 topper Sukriti Gupta on Saturday sought to make light of her academic achievement, saying there was more to life than just marks.
"So long as I know that I've given my best, I don't care how much I score... I agree there is more to life than just marks," Gupta told a TV channel.
She topped the Class 12 examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), securing 99.4 percent marks. Earlier, the CBSE announced the results of exams held from March 1 to April 22, for all its 10 regions.
"I believe boys and girls are equal. Everyone should be given opportunity (to excel)," Gupta said when pointed out that girls had outshone the boys in the class 12 exams yet again.
Gupta, a science stream student, scored full marks in Physics and Chemistry while she got 99 out of 100 in English, Mathematics and Computer Science each. Her aggregate marks were 497 out of 500.
