Motorsports: Double for Karthik, Aryan

Karthik Tharani Singh achieved a fine double by winning both the races in the MRF Formula 1600 class in the second round of the MMSC-FMSCI National Racing Championship which concluded here on Sunday.

Karthik was fastest in all the practice sessions before qualifying on pole position with a lap of 1:41.886 and became the only driver to dip into the 41s all weekend.

"It feels just fantastic to top all sessions in a race weekend. This is the first time I have done this in my single-seater career. A big thank you to MRF for giving me such a great car. I have improved a lot over the year and feel I was driving really well. It was a very strategic race and I am happy that it has worked in my favour," said Singh.

Also enjoying a successful weekend was Mohit Aryan of Anish Racing as he won two of the three races in the Formula LGB 1300 class.
