BJP's prime ministerial hopeful Narendra Modi Friday hit out at Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and said when one has to be tough on rapists, Mulayam Singh is soft on them.
"We have to be tough on rapists, but Mulayam Singh is very soft on them," Modi said addressing a rally here.
Modi's statement comes after Mulayam Singh at a rally last week said that "death penalty in rape cases is unfair as boys make mistakes".
In a twin attack at the Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati and the SP, Modi said: "The leaders are constructing elephant parks, they are doing lion safaris but they don't have time for the people."
