Naidu briefs PM about Jayalalithaa's condition

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Monday briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the condition of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, who still continues to be on life support, said informed sources.

Naidu earlier visited Jayalalithaa at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai.

Jayalalithaa is alive, Apollo Hospitals announced on Monday evening, after a TV report about her death sparked trouble and mass frenzy.

The hospital said Jayalalithaa, 68, who suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening, "continues to be on life support at the hospital".
