Napoli have joined the race to sign highly rated Brazilian centre-back Doria.

The 19-year-old has already been linked with AC Milan, Barcelona and Juventus after impressing with Botafogo in Brazil's top flight and as the Selecao's under-20 captain, reported Xinhua.

He is now being sought as a reinforcement by Napoli coach Rafael Benitez during the January transfer window, Globoesporte reported.

The move is aided be the fact Napoli have a vacancy for a non-EU player, the sports news website said.

Doria has played 50 matches for Botafogo since making his first-team debut last year. His contract is understood to have a 20 million-Euro buyout clause.
