The NDMC has gone for a distinct colour scheme to commemorate the heritage of its area here and to mark 100 years of the the civic body, parliament was told Wednesday.
The New Delhi Municipal Council's endeavour is to embrace a colour scheme that aesthetically matches the colours of Rashtrapati Bhavan and the North and South Block buildings.
Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibyhai Chaudhary said this in a statement submitted to the Rajya Sabha.
He said the dominant colours defining the New Delhi area - the heart of the city - for the past century had been sandstone pink of the buildings and verdant greenery.
