Inter Milan Dutch coach Frank De Boer, who has been sacked by the Serie A club, stressed that he needed more time to convey his tactical ideas to the team.
Shortly after receiving notice on the termination of his contract on Tuesday, De Boer issued a farewell message on social media, and thanked the Nerazzurri fans for the support they gave him throughout his experience with Inter, Efe news reported.
"Too bad it ended like this. This project needed more time to be carried out," the Dutch coach said.
"I want to thank all the fans for all the support you've given me over these months. Forza Inter," he added.
Inter Milan announced earlier on Tuesday the dismissal of De Boer as coach of the first team, and will be replaced temporarily by youth coach Stefano Vecchi.
