Hamas Sunday said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has only achieved a failure in his large-scale offensive that has been waged in the Gaza Strip since July 8.
"Netanyahu failed in this battle and the loser has no chance to dictate or impose any pre-conditions. Our people will not yield to the Israeli stupidity," Xinhua quoted Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas spokesperson in Gaza, as saying in a text message.
Netanyahu's statements on continuing the offensive on the Gaza Strip will "make him fully responsible for the failure of the talks in Cairo and will make him responsible for the coming consequences", he added.
According to medics, five Palestinians were killed during Sunday's air strikes, including two children.
Meanwhile, militant groups kept firing rockets from the coastal enclave into southern Israel.
