New films -- "Odiyan" featuring superstar Mohanlal, and "Aadhi" featuring his 26-year-old son Pranav in the lead role -- were launched at a grand event here.
The event was attended by people from the political and film circles.
Mohanlal's film is being directed by V.A. Sreekumar Menon, while his son's film is directed by Jeethu Joseph, under whom Pranav worked as an assistant director.
"After hearing all the speeches about the films of my son and mine, for the first time in my life, I feel I am getting tensed," said Mohanlal, while Pranav preferred to remain silent.
Pranav has acted in films before but that was done long back when he appeared as a child artiste and won the 2002 Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in the film "Punarjani", directed by Major Ravi.
