Mexico City, Aug 27 (IANS/EFE) Nine people died in drug-related shootouts in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, officials said.
The two shootouts occurred in the city of El Rosario on Wednesday, Sinaloa Attorney General's Office spokesmen told EFE.
Six men were killed in the community of Las Yacas and three others were gunned down in Cacalotan in shootouts between rival drug cartels fighting for control of the southern mountain region of Sinaloa.
Four people were wounded in the shootouts and admitted to hospitals in Mazatlan.
Five vehicles were seized by the security forces, the AG's office said.
