Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said there was no question of going back on the merger of six parties of the Janata Parivar.
"Merger of the six parties of Janata Parivar has been already finalised and announced and there is no question of going back on it," Nitish Kumar told media here following a statement of Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav.
Ram Gopal Yadav, younger brother of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, on Sunday said the merger of Janata Parivar would not be possible before the Bihar assembly election due later this year.
Nitish Kumar said the merger was certain and process for the merger of the Janata Parivar was on the right track and direction. Many works had been completed but it would take some more time for a final shape.
"All the six parties have already finalised it and named Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav as chief of new entity. There was no difference over the merger," the chief minister said.
He also said that there was no deadlock between his party Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), two of the six parties of Janata Parivar as far as merger was concerned.
Asked about delay of formal merger taking shape, Nitish Kumar replied that everything would take shape on real time. "Nothing happens before time, so it will also take place on time."
Nitish Kumar targeted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as he said that by saying that merger may not take place ahead of Bihar assembly polls, BJP expressed its happiness.
"BJP expressed happiness as it was afraid and worried of the merger of Janata Parivar, particularly JD-U and RJD in Bihar," he said.
Nitish Kumar admitted that there was a need of patience for the merger as it was a slow process to decide on several technical issues.
