Costa Coffee, the world's second largest coffee chain, Friday launched its third outlet in south India with a cafe here being formally inaugurated by British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai Bharat Joshi.

Speaking on the occasion, Costa Coffee India CEO Santosh Unni said they are delighted to have finally come to Kochi.

"This is our third store in the south after Bangalore and Chennai and it will be a privilege to serve the discerning coffee drinkers of Kochi. We are sure they will love the taste of our internationally celebrated coffee," he said.

Costa's store at the Lulu Mall will serve over 25 varieties of hot and cold coffee and flavoured drinks along with its range of snacks and food items from both the international range as well as those customized to suit Indian palates and preferences.

Britain-based Costa Coffee was the first international coffee chain to set up business in India in September 2005 partnering with Devyani International Limited (DIL), which has a large footprint in the retail food and beverages business in the country.
