Fed up with constant torture by her husband, a woman in Odisha killed him by strangulating him, police said Tuesday.
The crime occurred in Laxmisagar area of state capital Bhubaneswar Nov 7 but came to light after police arrested the woman and her father and brother Tuesday.
The 25-year-old woman had married 44-year-old Pramod Kumar Routray 11 years ago when she was a minor, said police.
The man believed to be a sexual pervert tortured her often. He also sexually exploited his sister-in-law many times. When his wife opposed it, she was beaten.
The mother of a seven-year-old boy decided to end her ordeal when her husband forced her to sleep with another man about a fortnight ago.
She mixed sleeping tablets in his drinks. When he became unconscious, she strangulated him. Later she threw the body in a nearby forest with the help of her father and brother.
Police started investigation after the body which was packed in a gunny bag was found Nov 8.
