One swine flu death has taken place in Haryana's Jind district and six other confirmed cases of the disease have been reported in the state, a senior officer said Friday.
"There are seven cases positive for swine flu in Haryana. Two are from Faridabad, four from Gurgaon and one death case from Jind," said Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Ram Niwas.
He said that one patient from Gurgaon was admitted to hospital while the others were on home quarantine.
"There were news reports regarding the death of one patient in Haryana with swine flu. But it was found out that the concerned patient belonged to the area of Preet Vihar in Delhi. One death case is reported from Jind where the patient was admitted in Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon," Ram Niwas said.
He said that the state health department was fully geared up for surveillance, prevention, identification, testing, isolation and treatment of case of H1N1 (swine flu).
